Sounds daft, but it's not pins and needles from sitting cross-legged or something is it?

No hun it aint.I dont do crossed legs somit to do with comfortability factor

im taking part in the jacket potato big night in thing and if you look there actually ok nothing over 8

I haven't checked in there sorry. I didn't do the spud thing so I wasn't paying attention. It's not likely to be your numbers then. I was getting similar symptoms till today when my numbers have been much better. When do you see the doc again, you should mention it.

Will do will be my first appt with new gp.

I have always had funny feet, even without the diabetes. Hubby takes out a doule indemnity insurance just to cut my toenails for me, and heaven help anyone silly enough to touch my feet without my permission!

A couple of months ago my right foot started to tingle a bit, then over a couple of weeks the ball of my foot and my 3 middle toes started to feel hot yet sort of numb.

Told my doc and he said, "oh that will be the diabetes"! He then checked my numbers, said they were reasonable, then used a whisker type probe and confirmed that I still had some feeling in those areas.

Then, said that as type 2 is a "progressive", condition, it is not unusual and that they would check me out regularly!

Seems there is nothing that can be done, it's a bit like diabetes itself, once you have it you keep it. :(

I never thought it would srike me as I walk miles a day as part of my job, just goes to show.

Has anyone else got similar?

Sounds a bit like Neuropathy there Chris. I have been suffering with it since November and have seen numerous specialists as its onset as been a lot more rapid than should be.
I had blood tests ordered by the specialist a couple of weeks ago, when my GP checked the results he said they were testing me for stuff he only ever saw on episodes of House. Thankfully they were all clear.
Speak to your GP about your symptoms, it could be something else depending on how well you are looking after yourself diabetes wise.

Its not about how hard we hit, its how hard we can get hit and keep moving forward. How much we can take and keep moving forward.

Ahem this is my thread I started .No advice for me ?

I had a call from the surgery today to go in a week on Monday to be weighed and tickled. Because of the new diagnosis they plan to check me every three months instead of every six until my numbers are more stable. Fairy Nuff.

Dear Steff,

What you describe is similar to what has happened to me. At my last diabetes checkup I was told the cause was neuropathy and that there was nothing that could be done about it. Clearly, I cannot say that it is the same for you, particularly because I have had T2 many more years than you, but I think it's a good idea to mention it to your carers as I believe you plan to do.

Warmest Regards Dodger
