Hi everyone, not been on here for a while due to me working a lot, iv been diabetic since December and have not tested my bloods due to money issues, but now I'm working and have my good first wage I now want to buy a meter but what's the best and cheapest?
Thanks x

Congratulations on getting your new work @Louise79, in addition to reducing your HbA1c so that you no longer need metformin . Most people recommend Code Free meter, as the strips are cheapest, about £8 for 50 strips.

Hi Louise. Well done , you've obviously worked hard at gaining such a good level of control.
All meters in the uk have to conform to certain standards. As you're probably aware it's the ongoing cost of the testing strips that you have to watch out for. High street brands strips cost between £15 - £35 for 50.
Where the Codefree meter's ones cost around £7 for 50 . Many on here use this meter
It's available directly from Homehealth, in the uk we use the mmol/l measurement and you're entitled to claim VAT relief.

You'll need to buy more strips and lancets as they only provide 10 ea in a starter pack.

Thank you, that's it ordered x

Congrats on the great A1c, Louise!😛:D😛
