What was the point in Dexcom G7?

We have moved from Dexcom G6 to G7. Aside from being less painful to put on and smaller, there seems little to recommend it as an upgrade. The Bluetooth is not as strong, the phone has to be closer and it doesn't loop. For us it works well and we have just had it funded but it really doesn't seem like an "upgrade" as it doesn't loop!
 
Looping is not a limitation of the CGM but a limitation of the pumps who do not support the latest version.
I assume they are working on it.
 
The presumption is that it will eventually get approved for looping but that takes time. It is cheaper for self founders because of the integral transmitter and has a faster warm up time so I presume it’s main audience will be people who will self fund Libre who want an alternative (the UK is a very small market compared to the US etc).
 
Yes, in fairness the faster warm up is amazing - 25 minutes! I guess we just wait and see. I'm dreading going back to G6 as it hurt so much to put on.
