i hate hypo's but i was wondering what do you guys use to treat a hypo quickly?

i find that chewing lucozade tablets takes ages, but when drinking lucozade, i cant seem to take just a few sips, i end up necking the whole bottle, cus for some reason i think liquid goes in quicker than food

does anyone have any suggestions as to what gets absorbed quicker, so i can stock up on it?

thanks

Everyone's body is different. Some people will find one thing works better for them than it does for others. You just need to find this out for yourself. But generally yes, liquid should work the quickest as the body doesn't have to break it down like it does solids. And if you drink lucozade, try your best no to 'neck the whole bottle' as you'll just send yourself sky high and you'll be rollercoastering until you get it fixed.

For me personally I use Jelly babies and dextrose tablets. They work very quick for me, last longer in storage than lucozade and are very easy to carry around with me.

I either use 3-4 jelly babies, or 4-5 fruit pastilles but also buy in the mini (mixer size) cans of coke - they are the perfect size and stop me drinking more than I should! I know that feeling all too well when you want to eat or drink whatever you can!! I have overtreated hypos far too often and you end up all over the place...

The mini cans are also handy for handbags, for the car (they fit in the door panel).

More recently I have been using cartons of fresh orange or apple juice though, 200mls is the right amount of those and that is the small carton size too. I feel it is a little healthier than coke/lucozade at least!!

I find cubes of Jelly work well for me 🙂 a couple usually do the trick ! An they taste lovely to boot, lol
