YeahWhat insulin(s) do you take @Jules77 ? Is it Novomix 30?
If you are on insulin therapy that is wrong and a real bug bear of many people on this forum (definitely me! grrrrrr) - 3am hypos are not good so 100% have a snack before bed - it makes me mad that you have not been given access to the tech you needNo they won't consider me for one although I have purchased them in the past and fine it very useful....I had a hypo the other night at 3 am and it wasn't nice so worried it will happen again
I know , it's because I'm type 2 I can get them from the pharmacy at a cost of £100 a month but it maybe worth that investment tbhIf you are on insulin therapy that is wrong and a real bug bear of many people on this forum (definitely me! grrrrrr) - 3am hypos are not good so 100% have a snack before bed - it makes me mad that you have not been given access to the tech you need
It's a disgrace though - regardless of what type you are, you should have access (free of charge) to this technology that improves your quality of life - you have used the Libre system in the past and found it very useful so should be offered it going forward - the (not so nice) NICE guidelines need to change IMO to help everyoneI know , it's because I'm type 2 I can get them from the pharmacy at a cost of £100 a month but it maybe worth that investment tbh
Type 2 on insulin don’t automatically qualify for libre, you have to meet other additional criteria such as living in the right area, injecting 2+ times a day, and being advised to test 8+ times a day to qualify. You are unlikely to be medically advised to test 8+ times a day on mixed insulin given you can’t adjust the dose to food.If you are on insulin therapy that is wrong
I am also a type 2 on insulin and my GP prescribed me Libre 2, as I wasn't aware when I was having hypos, I believe it is one of the conditions where you are entitled to have them even If your type 2.No they won't consider me for one although I have purchased them in the past and fine it very useful....I had a hypo the other night at 3 am and it wasn't nice so worried it will happen again
Hypounawareness has to be declared to the DVLA though and you lose your driving licence, so better to fix the hypounawareness ASAP before it becomes a problem than to get to the point of having hypounawareness and needing cgm for it.I am also a type 2 on insulin and my GP prescribed me Libre 2, as I wasn't aware when I was having hypos, I believe it is one of the conditions where you are entitled to have them even If your type 2.

To explain that your implication that if OP says they have hypounawareness to get libre that would have other consequences such as losing driving licenceif so why quote my post
