The situation is different for people taking insulin so what you might read about an acceptable increase is usually for people who are Type 2 just dietary managed or oral medication.
It will also depend on what insulins you are taking as to what to expect so I think it is not a straightforward question.
What would apply to those NOT on insulin would be no more than a 3mmol/l increase after 2 hours but don't assume this would apply to you.

That rise is fine. Are you getting back to the blood sugar you started at before the next meal or are you higher or lower, eg if you compare pre tea to pre lunch?
