The situation is different for people taking insulin so what you might read about an acceptable increase is usually for people who are Type 2 just dietary managed or oral medication.
It will also depend on what insulins you are taking as to what to expect so I think it is not a straightforward question.
What would apply to those NOT on insulin would be no more than a 3mmol/l increase after 2 hours but don't assume this would apply to you.
