to avoid DP i like to have a level of 7-8.5 and find that this works for me
Just wondered wot levels others like to have

4-7 for me.

About 5 is good for me because I sleep most soundly and comfortably between 4 and 5 but I am often around 8 at bedtime so end up jabbing a correction before I go to sleep. Sometimes that requires a jelly baby or two during the night but even with that very minor disruption, I still sleep better than I do up at 8 or higher.

Gail, can you explain how going to bed on 7-8.5 helps you avoid DP? I haven't heard of that.

I'm happy 5+

Ideally somewhere 5-8, but if I'm a little over I can usually trust Deep Thought to sort that out while I slumber without me overdoing it 😉

DP is when your blood sugar goes up in the morning not down so think you’ve just got the words mixed up

I can understand that, it was the reference to avoiding DP that I didn't understand but perhaps you got confused between hypos and DP, which is a rise in BG levels due to the release of glucose from the liver to give us energy in the morning to wake up and go "hunt or forage" for our first meal of the day. Like it takes much energy to walk to the kitchen and open the fridge! 🙄.

in origenal post didt mean to put dp ment to put hypo a result of posting when over tired lol

After years of Lantus tweaking I can now go to bed at 4.5-5.5 and wake up at the same. It only goes wrong when I have my last fast-acting after 8 pm or exercise late (both cause nighttime lows down to 3.2) or eat too much protein too late (causes nighttime spikes to 11).

Used to have the DP problem but Lantus tweaking got rid - still get a feet on the floor spike through.
