Type 2
Hi Folks,

I was recently diagnosed as Type2 after having an HBA1c go from 48 to 55.

I am now working very hard to get this down over this week and I bought a blood monitor. This morning when I woke up I squired 2 lemon jif into water at 0.1carb each squeeze then 30 minutes later took the finger test and it was reading 8.2

Why is this so high? What can I do to get this down? This is really scaring me that its so high just after waking.

Hi Sheepie. It really depends on what your pre drink/meal BG level was. I doubt that 0.1 carbs would really make any difference to your BG . However our liver will often help out in boosting our BGs to give us the energy we need to start our day. We can usually fool it by eating something low carb.
We normally test directly before eating then 2 hrs afterwards

Mine are high of a morning usually. It's the liver dump sadly. I find for me that is to potter first i.e. Fill dishwasher sort out washing sweep floor before taking it. Doesn't always work but of late it's been in the 7s before it's been in the 10s eeekkk.
