Why when your sitting watching telly etc do random foods just pop into your head and you feel like you must have it and soon, and not particularly unhealthy stuff, so far this week for me it's been peanut butter which I still haven't had, chilli that I got into my head last night and I didn't particularly care which form it came in and that's just a couple, oh and now desiccated coconut, I have that in the cupboard though and have just googled for recipes using it found a nice fried fish recipe and its fish for tea tonight so might well be making it 🙂 x

Oh gawd Kaylz, we'll prepare ourselves now for the food/insulin ratio anxieties if you become pregnant! :D🙂

Knowing me it would be really weird things so make sure you do prepare :D haha, I'm sure by the time it happens I'll have a better grip on things, interestingly I cant find nutrition info for coal haha x

I keep thinking about iced buns! I'm definitely going to get one next time I'm near a Gregg's 🙂

It's teacakes they are floating about in my head I reach out and they vanish. I have banned them because I'd eat a box worth which is either 6 or 10 😱

I have about 14 teacakes in the cupboard haha x

How many carbs are you allowing yourself? do you allow yourself to have a little 'treat' sometimes hun x

At the moment I am trying to be as 'good' as I can. Eat more healthily, for some time I have not!
I have a GP appointment next week. I have had variety of symptoms for sometime, finally GP and blood tests.
GP wrote to say make appointment with him because I am pre-diabetic. Came as a bit of a shock. I have had to wait 4 weeks for this next appt so came on the web for advice. So that's a long answer to say I don't yet have a daily target for carbs but haven't really been too hungry since monitoring them. I think it's the psychological thing of having to think about my diet!

What kind of things are you eating on a daily basis at the moment, remember you are very welcome to ask any questions you want here, I know what you mean though, before I just went and had whatever I wanted to eat, and although I still do that it's a bit of a pain sitting the night before working all the carbs out for each meal the next day etc x

I know it must be much harder for you Kaylz as you are presumably using insulin.
I am eating chicken, lots of veg, not potatoes (which I adore) low carb bread, salmon, mackerel, eggs, peanut butter. I have tried to steer clear of anything obviously sugary. I have always had hypos, sometimes with no obvious (to me) cause but over the years they have got worse and if I eat something sweet as a snack it inevitably brings on a really bad reaction about 20-30 mins later. If I even look at a Jaffa Cake it brings on the shakes!
But to come back to your thread.......I am fancying a doughnut with raspberry jam. Some lovely person brought in a dozen at work on Monday and I resisted. Just had to watch everyone else eat them, whilst licking sugar off their lips!

Oooooh, I want a doughnut with raspberry jam!

Up to now this Easter I've been bought a chocolate rabbit on a stick and scrummy decorated cup cakes. I don't think they're getting it that I'm diabetic. Luckily I don't crave chocolatey stuff but I've just eaten two plums. I crave plums! Weird.

Hmmm never tried it but I now have a fancy for a peanut butter toastie, and the way it is is I don't want it on toast it would have to be done in a toastie machine  x
