I've not had a more recent blood test for hba1c so I assume that sometime in the next few months I'll get called in for one.

But I'm not sure what a good score would be. My last was 70-ish, but that was halved from the 140+ I had at diagnosis and was about 6 weeks ago now, so I'm sure I'll be a lot less (the 70 would have included a month where my BG was reading 20's).

What do you guys consider good? I mean I could look it up in a chart, but there are so many of those and they seem to be quite contradictory sometimes.

This chart shows what you need to achieve http://baspath.co.uk/Hba1c_table.pdf So you need to aim for the green markers 🙂 Oh and well done on halving your previous A1c that awesome

Well done on halving your HbA1c @zoombapup thats brilliant. I would say just be happy with anything less than your last reading, obviously the lower the better. If you are doing all you can to get those numbers down then any reduction is a success. I’m pretty sure, from reading your other posts, that your next HbA1c will be excellent. I would be fairly confident that you will achieve something in the 40s but do t be disappointed it is a little higher, you are doing extremely well x

Huge congrats on your great progress @zoombapup

Its easier on the body, and fine blood vessels in the eyes etc, to reduce BG gradually over time, so I think you are doing really well.

Anywhere below 58mmol/mol (7.5%) used to be considered good for T1, but recently the suggestion is to aim for 48 (6.5%) or lower as long as you don’t have problematic hypoglycaemia.
