....eating to build up my strength after my op please?
Thank you Anthony - I'll have to put that lot on my shopping list for my daughter to buy - feeling quite weak - I'm not having any problems sleeping - except that I'm sleeping about 10hrs a night! xFish, Chicken or Steak. Protein will help recovery as well as sleep. I used to use Slimfast as my recovery drink when I was a pro athlete

Thank you Martin - I love oily fish - especially on a bed of baby spinach or water cress salad - or you could post me a thick slice of your smoked port butt.Oily fish would be great, plenty of Omega 3 Fatty Acids as well as the protein.
The most I have slept is 14hrs and that was on the night of the day of my op! Does that make sense?!!!Sleep is your body's way of saying Slow down, after big events I've been known to have a good few 18hr naps
Thanks Lucy - Broccoli is my favourite veggie - I have it with almost every meal - and i eat loads of baby spinach too - i think Anthony was only suggesting slimfast as an in-between-meal drink and not as a meal - I much prefer proper food xDo not use slimfast please, eat proper food, add some fresh spinach and broccoli to your list.
That makes perfect sense. Your body is working hard to heal and recover from the anaesthetic. I didn't go through anything like what you have just been through , it still took me a good few days to get my strength back. Listen to your body ok and take care of yourself. Thanks Lucy - eggs are on the shopping list right now 😛

Thank you Ljc - you're an angel - I appreciate what you say - and you take care too xThat makes perfect sense. Your body is working hard to heal and recover from the anaesthetic. I hear what youre saying Anthony and that's a hell of a lot of calories but there again you were exercising far more than I have ever done or will do - complan has been on the shelves for as long as I can remember & I recall my late mother drinking this during her own convalescence - and I similarly would drink complan during any illness I suffered until I regained my appetite. So yes I do understand where you're coming from xWhen I was training properly I would eat between 6-10,000 calories a day, slimfast/complan were used in conjunction with normal food
