Just about to have blood tests done
HBA1C in October was 7.9
Went on the pump in November
Average daytime BG 7.8 for last 60 days and 90 days
But have gastroparesis which could be messing levels up at night - I stopped testing during night because my basal is complicated to try to counter the gastroparesis spike - when I have corrected conservatively at 3am I have gone hypo but I usually go to bed with good BGs and they're not too bad most mornings

I bet you'll have dropped at least a whole point! Will there be a prize if we get the right answer? 🙂

Good luck Amanda, i wonder if the pump will be as successful as you imagined? I'm going for 7.1 🙂

I'm guessing 7.2.

Thank you for your guesses. There will be a virtual slice of cake for the winner. I hope to have the results on Friday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for my first ever HBA1C in the 6's but think I may be being a bit too optimistic:D

I'm hoping for the same thing when mine falls due (June, I think). It would be amazing. My 90 day average is 6.9 and 30 days is 6.8, but I don't know what's happening at night because I haven't tested then unless I was hypo.

Fingers crossed for you.

A couple of those 'average bg to a1c' conversions/guesstimates seem optimistic of a result in the 6's so I'm really hoping for that. I'll be cautious though and guess 6.9% cos the last few times those formulae have pitched a bit low for me 🙂

I thought the pump was supposed to really help so will plump for 7.0

I guess 6.9/7.0 but I hope your hba1c is better than last time 🙂

Thanks everyone for your guessing. I was tempted to phone for the result today but as they only took the blood yesterday I had to stop myself picking up the phone. The pump has helped in a lot of ways and the goal was to reduce the number of hypos rather than improve the HBA1C - but I'm hoping that it has improved that as well - it has certainly helped to manage a lot of the BG problems that I have because of the gastroparesis🙂

I would guess that it will be about 6.9 - 7.0

If it is 6.8 my credit card will be buying a bottle of own label champagne.....oh dear I've lost my credit card so Mark will have to pay for it:D. A further clue as to what the HBA1C might be......my 30 day average was 7.5 - I hope my meter has been giving accurate readings
