So I know in theory us Type 1's can still eat what we used to but what do you miss the most for me
Cheese and syrup on toast or digestives (DSN told me this was a no no what a party pooper) lol
honey
nutella spread x

Difficult to say as I have been eating this way for about a year..... I guess it'd be rice but sometimes a nice artisan loaf of bread (and I would eat the whole loaf😱)

Oh i forgot about rice and pasta, tried a pasta bake a few weeks ago it and my bs really didn't see eye to eye lol

I still have a little bit of what I fancy at times but really miss scones and teacakes! Occasionally I'll have a cheese scone in place of a meal to satisfy the craving. Oh and Mars bars! 😳

Now in theory I know I can still have a Mars bar but never again will I have the pleasure of a battered mars bar :(

I miss French stick with real butter ... Oh and I really miss Cornish pasties x

It would be fruit juice, which was the only thing I was told to give up ... except that I use it to treat hypos and I have so many hypos I have more fruit juice now than I did before 🙄

Kaylz, do you like darker chocolate? I have Biona choc spread about once a week and it has very little effect on my bgl - might be worth a try if you like dark choc spread. I need about a quarter of a unit extra insulin for it (would probably be a bit more than that for most people, I'm very insulin sensitive).

I have honey when I have a cold, but only if my bgl's low to start with - I need a whole unit of insulin for that!

I love dark chocolate, will have to have a look online for that as the town I live in has no big supermarkets, thanks for that 🙂 x

I miss crusty white bread. Like you say, we can have whatever we fancy, within reason, but I know if I had a loaf in, I'd just keep going at it!

Nothing at all ! T1 since being 3 ,basically all my life. Would not thank you for sweet stuff. 🙂

Strangely enough... porridge! I absolutely adore porridge! And I know it's a good food that will sustain you for ages, but I simply can't tolerate it without multiple injections, so I gave up on it. My dad, who's on a pump, can give himself an extended bolus, so I'm jealous!
And not that I was ever a massive pizza lover, but I did use to enjoy the odd Dominos take away, but I tried once after starting insulin and the 'pizza effect' kept my BG raised for about 14 hours, so I don't like pizza enough to bother with that again!

I miss my beer, over the 2 week christmas break i had 2 bottles of beer when i would of had 2 creates of the stuff back before this.

I miss grapes, pineapple, bananas and other fruit that I can no longer tolerate.

Mangoes, bananas, grapes, porridge, pasta, bread, and muffins. I do love being low carb as I feel very well on it but occasionally miss eating without a thought on what will happen!

I miss gorging on a box of bakewell tarts. That was my problem before DX, not being content with one.

I miss Cornish pasties and that's only because I am coeliac, diabetes wise a small pasty was a fabulous lunch.

Papa John's pizza and sliced baguette dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

They're 'doable' with insulin but after taking 50u in four hours to get my BG back into the 10-12 range after eating a stuffed crust all-the-meats, I've decided it's really not worth the bother anymore. I can hoover up a PJ pizza but I've since learned that a slice is something like 45g of carbs on its own, and that quickly becomes a problem when you eat six of them at once.

Haggis supper. (That's battered haggis and chips for the uninformed). Still just about doable with 16-18 u of insulin and 4 Creon, but it's not worth the hassle:(
