Type 2
hi only been diagnosed a couple of weeks as type 2, still waiting for visit to dietician etc etc.. stopped eating sweets chocs fatty foods etc trying really hard to eat sensibly,ie brown rice pasta chicken etc!! dunno if what im doing is right? any suggestions? are there any books i can buy to help with foods? recipes etc etc ? sorry if im repeating previous posts but im finding this whole matter really mind blowing confusing.

Hi Keith it is mind blowing when your first diagnosed and it totally confuses many of us, but by the sounds of it the rice chicken etc is down the right path, with diabetes it is not a case of completely ruling anything out but the amounts etc, for many we still have not cut ourselves off from the odd bit of choccie or sweets we just have cut right down.

If you have a look in our reccommended book section they will be some useful books in there.
