Is chocolate a slow acting carb?
Thank youChocolate is a bit of a weird one because it contains sugar which is fast but then also a lot of fat which slows down digestion. I’d think one of your bags of mini cheddars would be better.
It would depend on how many carbs you want to have, generally a digestive would be twice the carbs as a rich tea. they have the same amount of fibre even though you imagine the digestive would have more. Are both of these ok for a follow up snack following a hypo?
I don't think the fibre would matter it would the amount of carbsIt would depend on how many carbs you want to have, generally a digestive would be twice the carbs as a rich tea. they have the same amount of fibre even though you imagine the digestive would have more.
Really? 15-20g would send me sky high. If I do feel the need for a follow-up, which is rare, it would be 1 rich tea max.View attachment 18334

Following fast acting hypo treatment which would be either 4 dextrose tablets or 150ml can of coca-cola I would want around 15 to 20g of follow up carbs
Yes really I checked it out on the tesco app. I think after the fast acting hypo treatment which is 4x dextrose tablets or 1x 150 ml can of Coca-Cola 1 rich tea or 1 digestive is enough for me. It's my DSN who said you should have follow up carbs after a hypo if it's not a mealtime to stop you dropping again.Really? 15-20g would send me sky high. If I do feel the need for a follow-up, which is rare, it would be 1 rich tea max.
