Relationship to Diabetes

Well had to be at the hospital for 9am this morning which meant getting up at half 6 to have time for breakfast and get picked up, turns out the fluid has come back in my right eye but the Dr was great and managed to slot me in this afternoon an hour after he'd first seen me to get my injection done so all is good, I absolutely hate people who think they know it all, by about 12 I still hadn't been seen and I'd gone through 3 quarters of a litre of water and the person who had taken me through starts saying your blood sugar is high that's a classic sign, well yes it is but sitting in a very warm hospital for 3 hours will also make you need a drink seriously wound me up even more when they told me they don't think I take my diabetes seriously enough, this coming from someone that sees me very rarely, and I can assure anyone that I take my condition very seriously anyway rant over xx

Couldn't agree more, some people are opinionated and ignorant buffoons!

Sorry to hear this Kaylz :( People should keep their 'wisdom' to themselves if they're not going to be helpful 😡

That's all you need when you're anxious about your diabetes at the moment Kaylz. People make daft throwaway comments having no idea of the impact or distress it may cause. Forget them, they're irrelevant! Just hope your eye is ok now hun.

Even you guys on here know I take my condition very seriously I am always on here for guidance and advice haha x

Thanks guys injection was done about an hour after I first saw the doctor everything ok now apart from black bubbles in my eye haha they are getting smaller though but quite annoying, my eye went blurry on Sunday night so I phoned the hospital on Monday who could have seen me yesterday but I had an appointment somewhere else, said person wasn't happy that they had to hang around longer to take me home but there was no point in being booked in for a different day when he offered to do it within the hour, missed lunch with being there all day and being up since before 7 has made me feel a bit weak, I checked levels 2 hours after breakfast and had went from 5.8 to 4.8, checked 6 hours after breakfast after my bottle of water drinking incident and was 4.9 and just now before tea was 4.8 so her comments were untrue in every aspect lol x
