Yep, got to see a doctor today (a real one), mainly to discuss my home monitoring that I do with blood pressure and peak flow readings and to have my medical records up-dated.
Since being diagnosed with diabetes some 5 months ago.
I lost over 2st in weight
I went on a low carb diet (iro 130 grms per day)
I reduced my calorie intake (iro 1200 calories per day)
I increased my exercise
I reduced my hba1c score from 51 to 46
I joined Diabetes UK in order to understand diabetes better and find a way to help myself improve my hba1c score and avoid further health problems.
So was it worth it ?
Hell yes,
My doctor has reduced my BP meds
My wife finds me sexy again
I feel fitter than I have for many years
My doctor has me down on my records as "Non diabetic" due to only one result saying diabetic and the other 3 months later saying "Pre".
I controlled the controllables ie weight, diet and exercise, took advice from members on the forum and read a lot from the learning zone.
Yes, I have done well, but without Diabetes UK I couldn't have done it, so thank you DUK and all the members who make this forum what it is.
