Well had a good week off from my usual exercise (with the exception of 2 sets of tennis and 1 hour PT session in the gym). Much below my normal routine, but Christmas started early for me with my son being home until 21st!

So I made a promise to myself that on Boxing day I would go for a run again - rather than leave it until new year.

I really enjoyed it - was a lovely morning - although my belly felt like a small child attached to me!😱 I managed to run all of it too - whereas I had allowed myself the opportunity to run/walk if need to.

Looking forward to my next run tomorrow. I will get rid of the christmas bulge as soon as I can!!

The best part of my run was being accompanied by my hubby who some of you may remember had a serious back injury in October. This was his first run sinced then and other than the back aching he was fine - and looked a lot fitter than me at the end - so he is now planning for his marathon in September. I will be aiming to do a 10k now after the 5k I ran in may.

I would just like to say a special thank you to Northerner for the support and advice he gave my husband recently - it got him back out there -so thank you very much!

Anybody else been running this christmas?🙂

Brilliant Lucy - well done to both of you! 🙂 I went for a longish run on Christmas Eve so have taken a couple of days off, but I will be out again tomorrow morning 🙂

Great to hear that you both did so well, and that hubby is back running again - good luck in your training! 🙂

Wow Lucy and Northener. I am so impressed with you. I'm enjoying being a complete and utter couch potato but I don't feel at all guilty. I've just had 11 days of rest and relaxation and I feel soooooooooo happy with life:D

Hi Lucy, that is so impressive, well done. I've gone and booked myself onto my 1st Fun Run in August 2012 and intend to raise as much as I can for Diabetes UK, therefore, will be coming to you and Northerner for tips galore...
🙂

Great news, runners.

I'm looking forward to getting back to running after go ahead from physio after knee arthroscopy - now passed 5 months since injury and no running, orienteering, kayaking in that time, just a bit of cycling.

Well done Lucy - Northerner!

I enjoyed 5 miles including steep hills in a local dene this morning with the running club. Keep on improving!

Richard
