I have discovered I've been diabetic since the beginning of 2016 and not Nov 2016 since I got my medical records through my diabetes my way.

I am angry and annoyed that I wasn't told of this as I could of started sooner rather than later on my diet and lower sugars and not being blind for a year. That'll be an interesting conversation come May on why wasn't I told.

I like the fact I can update if I wish on it and keep track of all my results. I can input things too but some don't go to the health care providers I have to tell them which I do. I.e. Self monitoring.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I was diagnosed Jan 2016 & found out that I had a HbA1c of 56 in July 2015! I wrote a letter of complaint to the doctor, who personally replied. He apologised & admitted he missed it, but also stated that 56 was still OK. It's right into the diabetic range, so how can that be OK?😡

I think It's blooming disgusting that neither of you were told till many months later.

why is it they are so bloody dismissive of the care of diabetes. We are being proactive not reactive like they are with us. I want to live a long life and not shorten it but being in the dark isn't on thats for sure.

Hey @Dollypolly I'm so sorry to jump on your thread but it's cause of this I found out I could access my records so thanks, quick question I have just signed up and got the email telling me they will send me a form, do you remember how long this took? again sorry for jumping in x

I had a 'borderline' result 4 yrs before I was told but nobody thought to re-call and recheck me! 🙄

When I was diagnosed, my doctor said to me that I was borderline at the previous year's tests, but they needed to prioritise my liver as the results for that were so bad. I wish I had been given the whole picture.

That's great thanks for the info Dollypolly 🙂 I'm just wondering how far it will go back as I had a blood test a few years ago that came back my bg was higher than normal but nothing came of the re check so will be interesting to see if that's there x

@Kaylz it will be I have things on mine from 2009 lol!!!!

You'll get an email with log in name and password you change the password when prompted.

Oh fantastic, my tests were only 2013-2014 I think, I cant wait to find out now, this form better come quickly lol I tell you, ridiculous waiting for it considering I stay less than 30 miles from where it's coming from haha x

I was like that too every day waiting on the post lol!! I'm such a nosy bugger but when I got don't do it I was determined to do so as it's my records who else would care about them other than other diabetic folks who do understand.
