Had a dizzy spell in the shower this morning and decided to test, just in case. Shower hypos are not rare with me and I had been at 5.8 when I woke up. The reading was 7.8. Now I'm confused. I did it twice to be sure.

I've had a couple like that and BG was fine. Are you able to check your blood pressure?

No, fraid not. I'm fine again now though.

had you eaten? EVen when other things areas they should be if I don't eat I get dizzy

No, I can't eat first thing, I'm usually too queasy for at least an hour after I get up. I've tried to eat right away but it just makes me sicker.

I have learnt only in the last couple of years that the dizzy spells I thought were hypos were nothing of the sort, and mainly down to slightly low blood pressure. I never could understand why my levels were so high after treating the hypo - i didn't think I ate THAT much! So I suggest you get your bp tested - you might be the same.

Now I have to do a test as soon as I think I might be going hypo to make absolutely sure. I never used to test before treating and now wish I had!

I was gonna say BP too.

I've been a lot better in that respect since actually being on BP tablets even though my BP wasn't actually anything near high - just a gnat's whisker above the lower limits they want D's BP to be.

Which is weird really, but maybe mine fluctuated before and doesn't do it so much now, or something?

That should have occurred to me as my BP has always been on the low side of normal, except when they had me on Metfartin. Then it was on the high side of normal. Nowadays, when I start to feel dizzy I assume it's BGs instead of BP.

I've made that mistake too!

But today I successfully went up an down a ladder several times (stepladder I mean) - new shower curtain, look at the muck on this curtain pole, good grief - and on the lightshade, and that cobweb on the ceiling .... you dirty cat .....

Well me bathroom is clean now even if the rest of the house ain't LOL
