Found this thread on BBC Ouch messageboards, for people with any disabilities, any combination etc, which raises some interesting ideas, potential solutions etc http://www.bbc.co.uk/ouch/messageboards/F3611783?thread=7152618 Although many don't consider diabetes a disability, that doesn't necessarily mean that there's nothing to learn from disability forums.

On the subject of disabilities, some can't be seen, like being deaf.

How disabled you consider yourself depends on your outlook. I have known people in wheel chairs who lead very active lifestyles, so they don't consider themselves disabled. I have also known people who have very minor disabitilites (a little finger or a toe missing) and they spned their time letting the whole world know it.

This is all I will say as there is a danger of causing contovesy and going off thread.
