Weight Loss

Hi Ickle,

I wouldnt worry too much about a weight loss book just yet, Like you i was diagnosed with type 2 at the beggining if December and just by watching my diet and sugar intake i have managed to loose 11lbs already although i was only very slightly over weight in the first place. So my advice to you would be get your diet right and do some regular excerise and see how you go.

Good luck

Dean

thank you Dean, it may be wishful thinking but I DO feel as though I have lost a little..........not enough for anyone else to notice but I will keep on keeping on and hope for the best xxx

Hi,

Ickle, I'm like you - v overweight and nothing ever seems to work. I have to say though, that only by ditching the diet books/magazines and opting for a simpler, healthier diet, and getting out with the dogs more, I've managed to lose almost 3 stones - it was REALLY hard to start with, and now, especially round pmt time, it can be a nightmare! It's taken well over a year, but I havn't really put any back on. Losing always gives you the boost to keep going - set backs and not realising your goal is a hard one though. I bet you're like me - could win mastermind on healthy eating an dieting.... but it's soo soo hard to put into practice.

I'm a comfort/boredom eater so I need to keep myself busy - even took up knitting as a way of keeping my hands too busy to reach for the biccies.

I still have a long way to go, the same again and more.... and, to be honest, I sometime feel I'll never reach that goal... but in the end, it's all very well doing it for your family etc but you have to do it for yourself. I got myself into the frame of mind that this "thing" is not gonna beat me, I want to live a long, happy and healthy life... and carrying on the way I was wasn't doing much to get me that.

My weight has hindered me so much in the past - unable to have kids being the main one, along with my distinct lack of confidence outside my comfort zone - After turning 40 and realising that there was probably more yrs behind me than in front, I don't want it to continue to ruin my future.

Are you the lady that had the thyroid problem? - that must be so hard when trying to lose weight. Anyway, I wish you well.... I hope 2009 is a new start for you!

Let me know how you're going! xxx

ps: homemade soups are my saviour!! LOL
