Hi all
I was told to stop the injection as had a bad reaction so awaiting to see what I can take . This is the mark from one injection has anyone else had this very itchy. Doc told me it would go

I have had bruises from injections and I did react like this when I changed my insulin. It would be worth asking for an alternative, as there are a variety of options, and you don’t want that reaction each time.

I am getting the same reaction to Humulin and then Levemir. The diabetes nurse has issued a third insulin and also changed the needles as she suspects there might be a reaction to the lubricant on them. What insulin and needles are you using? Mine are BD Viva screw-on 4mm/32 gauge

Hope they can identify where it is coming from and find a suitable alternative for the medication or needle that is causing it

Itchiness problem solved for me last night by changing the needle from BD Viva to GlucoRX fine point.

I don't like BD needles either! They sting me like hell, and nobody has ever been able to explain why. I used to use Novofine on MDI; doubt if they still make them now.

My diabetes consultant said the culprit is the lubricant on the needles. Some people are allergic to it.

That's what me and my DSN thought it probably was too.
