'We have had zero information': GPs in the dark over Covid-19 tests

I would like to say I’m gobsmacked, but sadly I’m not.

Shambles :( One phrase I am getting heartily sick of is 'we have always done the right thing at the right time, and followed the science' 😡 This is patently untrue, they have been fire-fighting ever since it dawned on them that the virus was running out of control and a huge death toll might be in prospect :( And there is not just one scientific course of action when part of that science is behavioural modelling, something that is notoriously imprecise when the data is limited :(

There's been a huge increase in testing, whatever the exact number is, but what are they actually doing with it? This kind of thing doesn't promote warm fuzzies.

We can't really do anything with the testing of the general public until we are able to track and trace contacts, and that appears to be (at least) a month away here :( Also, I think it was a mistake for Hapless Hancock to feel all smug about hitting his target on 30th of April, since he has failed miserably to match that in the days since (and even then the numbers were massaged). He'd have been better being honest that he was close, but not quite there rather than trying to con the public and lose trust :(

Yup.

The UK has gone from positivity of ~25% to less than 15% in a really short time with the ramp up - more tests, flat daily cases. Triffic if you trust the numbers ...
