Watching this on BBC I Player. The highlights all 7 hours of it. Bringing back lots of memories, a day when we thought we could change the world

I watched the beginning of it when it was first shown last month on the BBC.

I was 10 the first time around but I do have vague memories of really enjoying bits of it with my family. I made a point of re-watching the Queen set, as I remember it being amazing. I wasn't wrong - Freddie Mecury was such a showman. I loved revisiting it.

At the time, it was an amazing thing for a group of musicians to do.
In hindsight, the complaints about rich Westerners parachuting in with some money and feeling good in themselves is not that sensitive.
I can see why the lyrics of the Band Aid song was changed.
I know my image of the whole continent of Africa as a teenager was driven by what I saw with regards to Band Aid.

Still an incredible concert (or two).

I liked the fact that Dylan pricked the pomposity of it all (despite having been given the honour of being the last act to appear before the finale) by shuffling on stage with Keef and Ronnie and giving the most ramshackle of performances  1755014925053.png

Wow.... 40 years! How old do I feel
I remember driving back from Sainsbury's like a maniac so I wouldn't miss the start. Luckily it was all local back roads and very, very quiet.
Fabulous concert and a really hot day. Hubby and I sat on the floor munching snacks and drinking beer.
