Woke a bit late tested was fine. Took pills injected and set my timer for the 30 mins I need to wait before I start preparing my brekkie .
Well I got so involved reading here and starting a thread that I didn’t notice the alarm going off
I was 6.7 at 08 42 when I bolussed, it was 3.8 with a slanted down arrow at 10 00 when I suddenly realised. After chucking some juice inside me and stuffing three slices of bread n butter down my throat coz I was starving and definitely not thinking straight I had spots before the eyes too. I’d gone down to 2.9 with a slanted down arrow , so I forced myself to enjoy a tiny can of full fat Coke.
I’m doing fine now and my Meter and Libre are much happier with me 3.7 with a slanted upwards arrow .
I wonder what dizzy heights I’ll go up to.

It never ceases to amaze me , the things I manage to do re my insulin.

Now, now, no need to refer to yourself as an idiot, even in jest. We all have to follow a relentless(sometimes monotonous) routine daily. Considering we have to do this indefinitely it would be a miracle if it all went to plan everyday.🙂

I am frequently an 'offender' in this respect @Ljc, so don't feel you are alone! Particularly in the mornings when I have to bolus quite a long time before eating (45-60 mins usually) I can often get involved in reading/responding and totally forget that I need to eat at some time! 😱 The saving grace for me is that I appear to be so insulin-resistant in the morning (or perhaps it's an over-active liver) that I can usually get off mildly! 😱 🙂

Aye, my salvation is Humalog is a bit less rapid in onset than Novorapid, certainly for me, so I have a bit more time before starting to wobble🙂

It's such a good thing I don't need to pre-bolus cos I'd definitely get distracted though first thing I'd much more likely fall back asleep just like I do after I get up, go to the loo and take my thyroxine tablets nearly every day.

That would never happen to me cos I am always bloomin’ starving when I get up, I sit and clock watch for 20 minutes and can’t concentrate on anything else! Shhh....don’t tell anyone but I sometimes don’t even wait the full 20 minutes! Top reb or what! Anyways @Ljc glad it all turned out ok in end. We’re all idiots some point in the day, well I know I am! :D

Apparently some people just get on with things without setting an alarm or anything! 😱, me I'm up, toilet, test, inject, set alarm for 20 minutes to eat, start my porridge 5 minutes before my alarm lol x
