Hi and welcome.

Sorry to hear you are feeling rough and suspect that your diabetes has progressed. The first thing that you should do is make an appointment at the doctors to get checked out and get a blood test. You mention weight loss.... Is this unintentional? Are you suffering with thirst and constant trips to the toilet or just the fatigue/lethargy after you eat carb rich foods. It is never to late to turn this around with the right treatment, so make an appointment and set the ball rolling.

If you have difficulty getting an appointment (I know some surgeries are really difficult to access by phone), do you have the option of an online service like "Ask My GP" at your practice? If so, I find that really good for explaining the problem in an email format and getting a very speedy response.

Hope you can get something sorted soon but obviously you know that your diet is not helping things and you need to start addressing that. Just small sustainable changes is important. Maybe have scrambled eggs and mushrooms for breakfast or an omelette instead of cereal or bread/toast.

I assume as you were pre diabetic, you are not currently on any medication for diabetes... is that a safe assumption?
