Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi - my Mum has to go for a INR check at the ‘clean’ surgery with a nurse but I am concerned. She is 82 with type 2 diabetes and atrial fibrillation. She also has varicose eczema and mobility problems. I can take her as the surgery is not local but I am concerned as her carer about the possible risks involved given the current situation. Up until now she has been indoors with myself as her carer. Any advice please? Can’t seem to get beyond the receptionist at our local surgery on the phone! Thank you!

Take her. You have got to trust that the professionals know what they are doing, after all, they are also "at risk". I would take the view that she is more likely to come to harm from missing the appointment than she is from attending it.
