Well some way into my new Type 2 life and thanks to so many great folks on this Forum "Panic Over!"

Sorta have a food regime to kick off with and I am more active and a stone or so lighter. ALL good stuff.

I was wondering about my first blood test before breakfast. A couple of weeks back it was 7.3 average and now it is about 6.7.

I am away that many suffer "liver dumps" but wondered if this drop in my case was due to my body settling into the diabetic regime and getting adapted to my Metformin?

I have 2 500mg a day only and moved the second one to my main meal which I have moved to 8pm? During the day my blood is in the range 5.4 -5.8 drops to about 4.6 after a moderate exercise session.

Hi Bryan , I would say the drop in your pre breakfast BG is due to the combination, of meds diet and exersize.
You're doing really well !!!

I would generally ignore early morning tests as they can easily be affected by the liver dump. Best to just do 2 hour post-meal readings.

Hi Bryan
Sounds like the metformin and your excellent work with diet and activity are starting to work nicely for you. Those day time readings are really excellent and the fasting reading is really good too even though it's a little higher than the rest of the day. A lot of people find their fasting reading is higher than the rest of the day because insulin resistance for some peaks at that point. If you want to try and lower it there are things you can look at but you may find it's just the way your body works. Well done with losing that stone or so too, it's great to see your hard work paying off 🙂

I've been having a small handful of peanuts before bed & this seems to lower my waking readings. You're doing great, BTW.🙂

Hi Brian - by the look of it youre doing very well indeed - you've certainly got to grips with your Diabetes - your bgls are good numbers so dont fret, take care
