Dear will2016,

Have you tried keeping a food diary? Do you have targets for fasting, post prandial and pre-meal levels. When you have all the above you could try following this approach, after a few weeks following it you will have a pretty good idea of what and how much of the different foods you can eat.

Yup afraid so stress can be a major factor in your BS levels, espectially with what you have going on at work at the moment your in a really stressful situation Will.I do hope you will get a definate answer shortly.Have you got some kind of diary where you write down your levels, you may be able to gage any kind of patterns that emerge

Hi Will.

Stress does, generally, cause BGs to rise at certain times, in certain situations, so it could be causing your higher readings.

It could also be, as Dodger suggests, a change in your body's response to familiar foods.

Rob

There's also the additional possibility that maybe the stress of the work situation has stopped you from maybe being quite as active as you were when you felt more settled. Can't take your eye off it for a minute can you? Well, you can of course, but you know what I mean! 😉

I can personally vouch for the possibility that it may be stress pushing your levels up. I woke to 11.4 on Tuesday morning after a bad night due to a stressful family situation. I'm normally around 7 or 8. My levels stayed higher than normal all day too with a pre lunch reading of 9.7 when I would expect to be between 4 and 5. XXXXX

thanks all, again good advice from here, i have watched what i eat today so hopefully that will help, mind I been starving all day 🙂
