I take folic acid and vitamin B12 because I am always on the low side when I have a general blood test and have been anaemic twice. I usually buy Bio Care supplements in pure liquid form because I have a intolerance to digesting certain products.
However I decided to buy my folic acid and vit b12 in 'cap' form where the powdered medication contains bulking agents to try out again.
I have included the ingredients in the attached file as I now have a spike measurement of 7.8 mmol from accuread testometer from a fasting morning reading of 4.6 mmol.
I have only eaten eggs and avocado with a cup of homemade chicken broth for lunch.
Is this me being silly.
I do react to any carbs and wondered if this could be a factor. Probably me being silly but how else can I explain it. Thank you for reading this.

A potential candidate would be the cellulose as this is a carbohydrate but is not digestible by humans. It would be the fibre component found in plants, it would be broken down by bacteria and fungi in the plant ecosystem. It is possible I suppose but a bit unlikely. However I am happy to be contradicted by somebody with more knowledge.

Imo it really depends on what your levels were before you took them .
Our glucose levels fluctuate throughout the day . Tbh I consider 7.8 depending when you had lunch , to be normal .

Is this your morning fasting reading, or another reading of 4.6 later on? When did you take the supplements in relation to the 4.6? Before or after lunch?

Could be a rogue test strip @NotPink? 5% of strips can read a y old nonsense numbers and the meter would still meet the ISO criteria for use.

Or something on your fingers?

Or just a freak result, where something other than what you ate caused a rise in BG (there are many other factors including excitement, anxiety, stress, illness, injury etc).

Hard to make any judgements based on just one result. Keep an eye on things to see if it develops into a pattern?

Or it may have nothing to do with your supplements and a natural rise which some refer to as "Foot on the floor" - our liver gives us a boost in the morning by flooding out some glucose to give us the energy to start the day.
For some people, this happens before they get up and is referred to as Dawn Phenomenon. Other livers wait until they notice the body moving and then release their flood.

No idea. But I had my 2nd jab last Wednesday and the 2nd day i felt really hyper, feeling yuk and could not sleep. Back to normal now. Thank you for your responses.
