Hello

How are your appointments working at the moment? I have a video call with the DSN on Tuesday. Last time I had to read out my blood sugars at the start of the call, just three pre meal ones per day for the last three days. It wasn’t a good method as it would be easier for me to show her a graph of the trend etc so show her the impact of the new medication. How are others doing the data part?

I have the accu chek expert meter and somewhere I have the cable (not sure where, can hunt it out) or it does have a couple of summaries on the meter I could take a photo of. I don’t have name or email of the person I’m seeing though so I’m guessing it’s not the done thing to email data over?

Mine for various departments/services have all been a mixture of face to face or over the telephone. Seem to go okay. My DSN just views the data from the Libre.

Sadly I can’t get the libre on nhs so only use when i can afford the odd sensor, it was the fingerpricks I was reading over the phone

What I used to do is keep a spreadsheet and email it over.

mmmm Lucy - there is some Roche software you can download the 'Expert' to, for which you have to get an infra-red transponder, which is a PITA, You can also download it to Diasend but it appears you need a transponder to do that too - I literally yesterday specifically asked Patti how she used to download her Expert (cos she still has a Combo pump and the Combo meter/handset is a glorified Expert just with a bit of Bluetooth connectivity enabled so pump/handset can communicate; so we have to turn that off on planes LOL) and she said a transponder, which she hasn't used for years and has since lost, shame, cos I could have nabbed it to download my Insight!

Think you will have to revert to Excel (other choices of emailable speadsheets are available) mate.

I have an apt for bloods in January right across the screen it says this is a virtual apt please do not attend the surgery. I will let you know how it goes 🙂

Haha I hope you can take your own blood virtually, that will be interesting!!

I do have the cable for the expert meter somewhere thought haven’t really used it. I’ll have a hunt and see if it turns up. There are some summaries on the meter itself which I could send if I could get an email address.

Do you know who you will be talking to on the day as in his/her name? If you don't ring the DSN's office and ask who it is and ask for an email address so you can send the results via email.
Address will be whoever@nhs.net

If you use diasend you can save the results as a pdf and send them via email that way.

I don’t know their name unfortunately, the letter just says DSNs. I suspect it’s the same person as last time but I can’t remember what her name was. If I find the cable I’ll call and ask.

I've found the cable, and the software, and imported the blood sugars! My appointment is in the morning though so not going to have time to find out an email address and send it over but could ask for next time
