Met up with the girls from work this morning - I had victoria sandwich cake which I did a very random 2 units for and now at lunchtime I'm paying for it because bg is 18.9 but hey ho the positive is that I enjoyed the cake and if I hadn't of done 2 units my bg would probably be higher.
I'm now at home having a ham sandwich 36g of carbs and a batchelors cup a soup 12g of carbs and have done 5 units humalog for lunch and the advised 6 units correction

Update
Just done finger prick 2 hrs after lunch and bg has come down to a nice 11.6

Glad you enjoyed your cake! That’s how to do it, do your best guess and if it isn’t quite right just sort it out afterwards. You’ll know next time that you need to give yourself a bit more insulin if you have that again.

Thank you 🙂
