Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi, I have type 2 diabetes and have to take Metformin and Antorvastatin, and am taking tamsulosin, my question, is it safe for me to take Viagra?, I am finding it difficult to put this question to my doctor !!

Hi @Bana man welcome to the forum,🙂 if you stick it in your shoe it will make you limp,:( so stick in your gob and enjoy it.🙄

Sexual dysfunction is one of the two VERY common side effects of Tamsulosin - so I'm utterly baffled why you'd be concerned in asking a doctor! If you can't bring yourself to actually say anything - just say I've come to discuss this side effect and hand him the Patient Info leaflet out of the packet of tablets with a big biro circle round that bit.

We don't know the full extent of Bana man's need for the Tamsulosin and we aren't either his GP or his Urinary Consultant.

@Bana man - there are other ways of 'killing a cat' than just Viagra if it isn't suitable and your doctors are there to help!

Only works if your up for “IT”. Also takes up to an hour to work. Use your imagination and start your foreplay. Maybe take a bath together.(if you won’t fit take a shower.) use some massage oils and massage each other. Might work before the hour you never know.

I’m not a doctor but i’ll tell you based on my experience i take Metformin and i tried Viagra and in few minutes i started feeling some pain in my Prostate even without an erection

Absolutly agree with @trophywench. You need to speak to your GP and see if you can be refered to an andrologist if they can't help.
I had my prostate removed last year and they could't spare the nerves, so no more spontaneous erections for me.
I can't take viagra because of my hypertension. I now use injections to get erections. Sounds awful but it's no different than taking my insulin.
The doctors have seen and heard it all before, so no need to be embarrased. I know it seems a big step but once you take it, you will wonder what all the fuss was about.
P.S. you don't need an erection to have an orgasm.

Unfortunately guys I don't think this guy will see your advice as he hasn't been seen on the forum since the day this thread was posted over a year ago, hopefully he sought help from his GP xx

what is the injection you use,how fast does it work and is it available under the nhs for diabetics etc?
sounds a lot more pleasant than the side effects from viagra and other issues

You will have to be refered to an andrology team by your GP.
The injection I was perscribed by UCLH was not available from my CCG (Newham). So I was changed to Caverject 20mcg vials PIP code 2056315.
You have to be trained how to inject and slowly work up to an effective dose. The first time you have to stay in the clinic to make sure you don't end up with priapism (makes for an interesting wait in the waiting room LOL).
Everyone has to find their own dose, for me it takes about 15-20 mins to work and lasts 60 - 90 mins.

I have type 2 diabetes and take Metformin and Antorvastatin and take Viagra Works great for me but yes see your doctor.
