The Diabetes Weight Loss Diet by Anthony Worrel Watsit.

I didn't find it very useful and the recipes where not what I would find easy to use as I live alone and don't much like cooking.
The diet plan worked out very expensive to buy the food in order to follow the diet plan properly. Also lots of the suggested snacks would be a 'one off' in the two week period.

For example one of the snacks for one of the Mondays was a piece of Banana bread, and it was made in a loaf tin so I assume it would make a fairly good sized loaf, however, this bread is not mentioned again. ( what a waste of food).

When planning my food for the week I like inexpensive meals such as pasta with tomato based sauce, using Quorn. When appropriate I would use food twice a week e.g. make the pasta sauce into a chili by adding beans and chili powder and serve with basmati rice.

So all in all I found the recipes expensive and very fussy and time consuming. Well thats just my opinion. I suppose if you really like cooking and don't mind spending a bit more then its could be a very good book.
like I say just my opinion 😉

With you on this - way to fussy

I have tried a number of the recipes and even bought his other book and out of the two I don't really like the recipes except the oatie thins and hazel nut chews mmm mmm mmm.

Try Ainsley Harriott's Low Fat Meals in Minutes - this is a fantastic book and has got lots of recipes which include, rice, pasta and potatoes. I adapt a few slightly to make them just that little bit more healthy i.e leave skins on potatoes, add extra veg etc.

My favourite is his Thai Mince - made with turkey mince, red pepper, onion, few chilli flakes, soya sauce and only takes about 30 minutes to cook once it is prepared in the pot.

thanks Dizzy
I am sending the book back to Amazon and they are giving a full refund so nothing lost there, I will look at the book you suggest and thanks again

I bought an ATW book once too and didn't like it either - the recipes simply didn't appeal to me or my family and it was a complete waste of time and money

Thankfully i got the book out the library did not think much of it at all and did not try cooking any of the dishes. The book The Sweet Life is better and at the moment you can get the book free when buying 2 splenda products at Morrisons - well you can at my local Morrisons.

im not a big wozza fan either. got his book and tried a few thing in it, but i was very unimpressed by it. the ainslee book is good as is the james martin cook books (you just need to substitute some thing in his). i love to cook and i spend a lot of time in my kitchen. not seend the splenda offer yet as i dont go to morissons much but i will be off down to the local one to check it out as i use splenda quite a bit (kids love cookies and it is so much better for them lol)
