I'm looking for suggestions with the certain carb content to try so suggesting cheese mixed with mushroom doesn't make much sense? xxThere's not a lot of room to play with.. cheese is the obvious answer but I can see how you could go off it..
I learnt that the less dry cheeses ( think more feta than cheddar) can be whisked with a bit of water to cream them ( I used a soft blue cheese which worked texture-wise, a bit too hard work in a bowl with a fork.. a wand type blender would be good..) adding tomato or mushroom maybe depending on what cheese you use, cream rather than water for some luxury..
it makes a texture that you could put it through a piping tube if you wanted to..
Bit of a waste of money to have 1 a day lol xA grape?
I’m quite lucky in that respect: my husband likes grapes so there are always some in the fridge.Bit of a waste of money to have 1 a day lol x
Unfortunately my family aren't all that healthy and would rather gorge on chocolate bars, biscuits etc xxI’m quite lucky in that respect: my husband likes grapes so there are always some in the fridge.
that's around 1.5g carbs that could be an addition to a sandwich or alongside a sandwich for lunch? I'm thoroughly fed up of cream cheese!!xx
Can you buy that? Would struggle to make it go with some fillings so would need alternatives too xxWhat about a curry mayo to go on the filling instead of cream cheese?
A raisin? Same thing, more long-lasting in the cupboard...Bit of a waste of money to have 1 a day lol x
Cant stand them! Used to eat them all the time at school so think I may have got thoroughly sick of them, thanks for the suggestion though 🙂 xxA raisin? Same thing, more long-lasting in the cupboard...
Your a star, I didn't even think of pesto, if you don't mind me asking what is the one that you have? I will look on Tesco tomorrow but just interested to see if there's any point in popping up to Scotmid in the morning if yours is a brand rather than a supermarkets own xA tablespoon of Pesto in with your sandwich, if you like Basil? My jar is 6.6g per 100g, so you could have about 20-25g, (approx a rounded tablespoon.) That would help replace the calories lost with ditching the cream cheese, and keep the sandwich moist.
(You can get other flavours of pesto too, but I've no idea of carb content.)
Mine is Sacla brand, Classic Pesto No 1. Just a warning, you aren't allergic to cashews? A lot of pesto has some in now, because pine nuts got expensive. Only the premium (ie expensive) brands don't have cashews now. It doesn't affect the taste, I find.Your a star, I didn't even think of pesto, if you don't mind me asking what is the one that you have? Great thanks will pop out and see if I can get any at Scotmid in the morning, thanks for the heads up but thankfully I have no known food allergies 🙂 xxMine is Sacla brand, Classic Pesto No 1. I thought of that but as I have a nature valley protein bar with my lunch thought I'd best give that a swerve lol, thanks though 🙂 xxIf you are OK with nuts a teaspoon of peanut butter or cashew butter or something of that sort would be about right in terms of carbs too.
