Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 1 year ago but may have had it for a lot longer as I had not had a blood test for years the blood test I got taken was for something else and they discovered that I had diabetes in which time I have lost 1 stone 7 lbs in weight is this normal I am taking diabetes medication and I don't feel unwell with the weight loss I actually feel a lot better but I have a very bad sleep pattern awful in fact if I'm lucky I get around 3 and a half hours a night I fall asleep very easily normaly but wake about every hour and I'm awake for another 2 does anyone know if there is anything I can take to get a good night's sleep as I'm totally burst during the day and its affecting my work thankyou

Welcome Cabe33.
I think it might help if you would kindly post some blood sugar tests, particular bedtime/during the night. We might see a correlation.
Also, your medicines and time of taking. This should make the picture much clearer, thank you.

Thankyou I take yaltormin 1000 mg morning and night also take simvastatin 40 mg morning citilopram 5 mg morning and amolpadine 20 mg morning my bloods at bed time are normaly between 6.4 and 7.8 anywhere in that range

BG first thing in a morning? Typical day's menu? Any exercise?

Normaly around 6.8-7.2 I have porridge in the morning try to have a piece of toast brown bread for lunch and dinner varies tend to eat a lot of chicken I get quite a bit of exercise as I walk my lab in the morning then I'm normaly out and about during the day as I work with autistic adults

Ever tested before AND 2-ish hours after eating a meal to see what that amount of that food did to your BG?

Forget diabetes, it’s a common side effect of Citalopram, both insomnia and daytime tiredness.
