any vegetarian around? i've been vege for about 25 years, and i think its helped with being able to adjust to a diabetic dietry regime. any advice or recommendations ?

Hi @sean penguin, I was veggie for some years (pre D) but bacon sandwiches got the better of me! I tend to eat veggie if I'm out at a restaurant, or go for the fish option. Do you eat fish? I eat a lot of Quorn mince, but I know some people don't like it, and I know it contains egg, which has put off my daughters, who are both trying to be vegan as far as possible.

What diet do you follow? I'd be interested as I'm not much of a cook....o_O

nah, don't eat fish, quite a strict veggie but not vegan. quorn is ok but quite pricey. I tend to eat Italian sort-of dishes. and sandwiches, lots of sandwiches

We have a member who is/was on a plant based High Carb very Low Fat diet..... Haven't heard any feedback about the results for a while though.

Do you like halloumi that's delicious with med veg usually courgette and aubergines with a smidge of houmous not butter.

Ooh, I love grilled halloumi! I had a lovely salad with grilled halloumi recently. Not keen on courgettes or aubergines as I find they go a bit slimy and soft.

Yeah isn't it just lovely . My friend is a vegetarian and has veggie fish and chips which is deep fried halloumi 😱and sweet potato chips x

Been a veggie for over 25 years now and was a vegan for 4 of those. No issues whatsoever in being diabetic and vegetarian as far as I'm concerned. Plenty of options for a normal balanced veggie diet. T1 you can have what you want.

yeah, I haven't bumped into any major problems with it at yet.
