UTTOXETER patients have been doing their bit to help the NHS by returning hundreds of pounds-worth of unused medication.
Pharmacists at Balance Street Health Centre received the medication on Wedneday as part of an East Staffordshire Clincial Commissioning Group (CCG) campaign to reduce the £800,000 wasted every year on unused drugs.
Although the packages cannot be re-used and now have to be clinically incinerated, the CCG is confident the scheme has helped make patients think twice before ordering more medication than they need.
