UTI?Water Infection question

Two weeks later it was stopped altogether because I was still getting some low numbers. Currently they range from 3 to 11.5.
I think some of the HCP advice you've got might be because you're going low (4 & under) (guessing). Tell them you need more info about what's going on.
Having a couple of different things going on doesn't help.

Hi, I have a supra pubic catheter which makes me prone to at least a couple of water infections a year. I was diagnosed with type two about 4 months ago. This year I have had 7 infections already, a few which made me really unwell. My diabetic nurse says my numbers are so erratic because of the infections and meds and my Urologist says the infections are because of the diabetes. I am doing absolutely everything both of them advised but nothing seems to help. Does anyone else have this problem? I am so fed up.
Hi are you on prophylactic dose of antibiotics for chronic UTI?

Not wishing to cause any more confusion, there is a testing regime which we recommend and it's very well explained here -

By testing before and after eating, you can see very easily what that quantity of that particular food is doing to your blood glucose and whether it looks like a good idea to carry on eating it or not.

I've seen my Urologist today and discussed this with her. I am allergic or sensitive to most antibiotics and very quickly build up resistance to others. I did try Hiprex but couldn't get it to stay down by any means. She doesn't want me to take anything else because when I am very ill (I've had sepsis twice) there won't be any more treatment options for me.

Thank you. I often have scores of 4 and under, usually in the morning. This morning was 4.7, this evening it is 12.0, that is the highest I have had since diagnosis. I had weetabix for breakfast, a chicken sandwich for lunch, melon and a piece of cheese for afternoon snack, then took the reading at 5pm (as instructed by DN). I have a telephone appointment with DN in a couple of weeks, I will try and get more info - I'm still learning what questions to ask.

Thank you, I will read it later.
