D Medical Industries Ltd. has obtained a US patent for a component of its insulin pump. The patent, entitled "Devices for Continuous Measurement of Glucose in Body Fluid," protects innovative technology that allows for the combination of a minimally invasive continuous glucose monitor and an insulin pump on the same patch.
The technology enables the use of a single access point to both accurately test for blood glucose levels and deliver insulin.
