Hi all,

Hope your all keeping well! I have been such a busy bee, got my finger in so many pies.

I recently had to go for my check up at clinic, the last time I went my HBA had gone down from in the 8's to 7.5 and I was over t'moon when he said it had gone down AGAIN! 7.2 he says after conversion!

He is concerned about my hypos and I am going through the pump assessment motions, got a dietitian app in 2 weeks.

I have come back today from my diabetic screening check up today and I now feel a bit 'mixed' about all of my hard work and progress made!

In the summer, I was on the forum as I was petrified about laser surgery, had 2 'uncomfortable' sessions, infact quite painful, whose kidding!
The optician doctor said that my eye vessels are 'regressing and fibrosing'
WHAT THE HECK DOES THAT MEAN - speak simple Doc!
I asked if that was good or bad and he says it is good but not all of the areas that were 'zapped' are doing this so whilst the laser was relatively recent, he wants to see me in 3 months again...I was really hoping he would add to my great news and say that my eyes are now FULLY behaving!

Oh, well...do you think I can put this on my xmas list to Santa???????😛

Can you add me to your list as well? my right eye is not good at the moment ( bleeding at the back of eye) and I have had 2 lots of laser surgery and it really freaks me out😱 but very well done on your 7.2, that's fantastic news :D

Best wishes Sheenax

Well the fact that some of em are mending is better than being told none of em are - and perhaps it's summat that just takes time?

Hopefully, next time they'll be better still Suze.

Thanks ladies! I suppose that is very true Jenny, some is certainly better than none!

Infact my mum reminded me that as I was so tearful and fraught at the 1st session that the laser lady zapper did say that she'd leave that area alone for a bit. Maybe she never did return to my painful bit and those are the ones that haven't changed!

Bleedin' diabetes...(pun intended!)

Thanks Sheena, yep I'll add a foot note to my letter to FC and ask for you to get new eyes too!!!
Laser is so painful and yet everyone tells you it isn't...I'd much rather the total truth!!! I hope that your bleed doesn't cause too much trouble for you. It is whole-heartedly the one thing that scares the bejesus outta me!

Pleased that you're on the road to mending Suze. It might just be a longer road than you thought (it's those hidden dips where you can't overtake 🙄). 🙂

And if anyone reading who is due to go for zapping. Suze is joking really. It's a piece of cake. 😉

Hope you and sheena get what you hope for.🙂

Rob

Nice to see further improvements in your HbA1c Suze! I hope that in 3 months time the news is good about your eyes, try not to worry as you can only do your best to look after yourself between now and then - easy to say, I know. Hope everything goes well with your new support group - keep us up to date! 🙂

I am glad you asked for clarification over the 'regressing and fibrosing' comment - you could have come out thinking things were getting worse. Regressing in normal speech sound negative.

Hopefully though in the next 3 months things will continue to improved for you.

Well done on the great HbA1c result Suze! 🙂 Hoping that the next appointment is a much better one with regards to your eyes x
