Following my previous post about regretting applying the above sensor, after initially considering removing the above I have decided it would be a waste of the money I spent on it.
I said on a FB group that, despite my Drs analogy making sense ie not buying a cake if bg was 15, I felt it was counter productive. What I should have said was that if I was getting anxiety that I was better off not knowing after all, apart from a few weeks after diagnosis I didn't test for many years and my HbA1c remained in range 99%.
Some suggested that I needed to accept that my food choices affect my blood glucose like I don't already know. That by removing it I could pretend my blood glucose levels were okay. Neither of these are true. I'm well aware my food choices affect my blood glucose but so does stress and various other things.
Bearing in mind the above for my mental health and sanity I have scanned for the last time today and have the reading of 8.5 post tea which is the upper limit suggested by Diabetes UK unless I am wrong for post meal BG.
I will scan either when I get up for the bathroom in the night or just before breakfast. I will be glad when Libre 3 is available to purchase like Libre 2 but in the meantime I will scan whenever. I do about 6-8 but have done more but I am going to set a cut off point for the evening so (1) because I can't do anything about a high reading if it's too late (2) for my sanity and mental health and (3) I can enjoy my evening. It's the latter reason why I would prefer a cgm rather than a flash gm so I can go about my day/night only being alerted if bg too high/low although I might not always be able to remedy the situation.
Thank you for not judging me and listening to what I have to say. I might not be correct but it's how I feel.
