Hi everyone, well what a traumatic afternoon, mainly for me. Harry who is nearly 4 had his pump fitted today with saline to start with.

I found it awful to take in all the information in just 3 hours, in fact I cried when I put his cannula in, how bad is that !!

We got home and the meter wouldnt communicate with the pump ( A good start)

He also wont walk about with it at the minute, wants to be carried. Im hoping he has got used to it by thursday when we go live.

Please re assure me that things get easier !

There seems to be too many things that can go wrong . I will be dreaming about air bubbles tonight !!

Im dreading him going back to pre school on friday, because they will have to sort it all out with his snacks.( he only goes in the morning at the minute).

Thanks for reading..
Helen

Oh Helen, I do hope things get a little easier for you, I'm sure they will. Do call on the others here for suggestions if you get a little lost 🙂

Hopefully Harry will quickly get used to it and forget it's there 🙂

Well Helen I cried too, felt very emotional for the rest of the day after insert, for me it was seeing something visible all the time attached - rather than just injecting and forgeting, it was still early days for us and I was possibly still in denial up to that point :(

It will get a heck of a lot easier, lots to learn again (like going back to start) but you will gain knowledge and confidence over the next few weeks and months, and that is the key. Little one will adjust too, especially if he see's you guys being positive and upbeat ( lol do the rest in private 😉)

Best of luck and if you get stuck you know where to come 🙂🙂 x

Hi Helen, i know there is a bit to take in but its the best upto now. It is a lot easaier than injections. Give it a couple of weeks & it "Will" calm down. 😉
