The ELSA Study
Diabetes and health inequalities
Immunotherapies for diabetes
Sight loss and diabetes
Exercise and type 1 diabetes

I've signed 3 of my children up to the ELSA study since 2 others are already type 1. Want to see if it is something in the genes.

Well done for participating in research @csjjpm 🙂

Good evening, I’ve signed up both of my children. Were they quick with sending out the testing kits or was it a wait?

This is quite an old thread @jessmb73 and we've not seen @csjjpm recently.

Hope you get on well with participation in the study 🙂

Hi, yes they arrived within a couple of weeks. The kits came separately and you have to return them separately. The results came a few weeks later and fortunately my other 3 children are negative for the presence of the protein.

Two of my sons are type 1 and two of the other three sons and my single daughter all tested negative in this study. I didn't bother suggesting to my older 26 year old to sign up.

I used to work in academic clinical research and back in 2018 worked on data capture element of the Libre study by Lala Leelarathna.
It is vitally important we support these studies as however small they all work towards bigger successes.

Thank you so much for this. Fingers crossed my children’s results are both negative!
