My supper is nearly ready so I should be good to go in 40 minutes. Last year 9 right in final. Can I hit double figures this year?
 
Oooh when I can catch it. I sit down with my wife & we call out answers or nay or yay say at the screen. Lol, sometimes. We amaze each other or we “don’t.” 😛
Suppers nearly ready here too. 10 more minutes?

It was a little banter with @everydayupsanddowns with no ill intent. I’m no academic. But my wife is.
I apreciate the reminder of your topic. It will be a change from the cooking programs my wife has on at this time. & we can spend time together having a laugh? We’re firing up the telly. 🙂
 
No spoilers if case people haven’t watched, but one of the family is going to ineffably smug for the foreseeable.
I couldn’t do most of the questions, they seemed heavily weighted on the scientific side. I could do a few of the arts based ones.
 
Sadly I didn't do it and got 9 right again. The only starter I got was the opening question which helped me score 50 points!

No Mastermind or University Challenge means summer is here and the rain will be a bit warmer! :rofl:

Completely the opposite, we pray for science based question and then we stand a chance of answering a few. I am amazed at the breadth of knowledge of the teams even when it is not their specialism.

I don’t always watch it, clashes with Corrie which is more my level, but I always answer all the questions, don’t tend to get more than one or two right though! 😉 Science ones baffle me, literature, history, geography are more my cup of tea, I sometimes surprise myself with the classical music, years of living with Mr Eggy and Classic FM!
I could go on it as an alumni of the University of Life!
PS I do like Amol as the new presenter.
 
We both used to be able to answer all sorts of questions on all sorts of random subjects - but hardly any this series. We both completely agreed with Tom Stoppard's opinion, at the end! (wonder how Miriam is these days)

This year's UCL team were just phenomenol throughout.
 
I am lucky if I can answer anything on University Challenge. I am useless with science subjects. Only Connect is just as bad. Mastermind general knowledge I am OK with and Pointless unless it is modern music, films, or TV.

Only Connect completely baffles me! Mastermind is more suited to my full of useless knowledge brain! But I watched the 1% club on Saturday and I surprised myself ( and Mr Eggy) that I was spot on with the workings of the 1% question but just ran out of time to get the answer. 🙄
Oh and I’m quite good at Pointless, again because of all the useless knowledge I store!
