Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hello, as of today I can't download any of my diabetic equipment I use - my pump, blood glucose handset or my Freestyle Libre 2 reader) onto my Windows 10 laptop. This has never happened before. I last did it successfully 2 weeks ago, I have a diabetic review tomorrow so am trying to do it now.
I had a Windows up-date a few days ago which I have tried to uninstall in case this is the issue but I'm not sure this has worked, and up-dates have never been an issue previously.
I've rung Abbott and they can't help me with it.
Does anyone have any ideas at all what the issue may be please?
Thank you

Sorry to hear you are having problems. Are you downloading via a cable or WiFi. Just wondering if you have a problem with the cable? Sorry if that is too simplistic... My knowledge of tech is limited to what can be learned by a reluctant dinosaur. 🙄

It'll be cable rather than wifi. And that's what I'd guess too. Or it's the USB socket that the cable is being plugged into. Or it's something in Windows that's denying access to the USB socket. Also worth trying to reinstall the Libre 2 software to see if the Windows update broke it somehow (you can get the driver link on https://www.libreview.com/, and it turns out to be (at the time of writing) Download for Windows ).

I'd try plugging the cable into a different socket and see if that works. Also trying a different cable (presuming you have several, which seems likely). And trying some other device that can plug into the USB socket and seeing if that works (I'd try a mouse, another keyboard, a USB flash drive, but it depends what you have handy).

Hi, thanks for the above, all very fed up with it all now, but I don't think it's the cable, I use the yellow supplied cable for the Libre 2 download but a piece of kit called a Accu-Chek Smart Pix to download my pump/handset (Spirit Combo), nothing downloading so guessing my laptop is the issue but I'm not able to know how ro resolve....

Yes, that seems a reasonable guess, but I've also no idea what it might be. (Obviously if you haven't tried this, try rebooting the laptop. But that's usually (sensibly) the first thing people will try so you'll have done that.)

I've tried this several times thanks, exhausted all my IT knowledge now really. What doesn't help is that Accu-Chek don't have any technical help at weekends (fortunately it's not an issue wirh my pump etc) and Abbott don't offer any help at all on sundays. I work all week so can't sort it out with any of them then.

i'm not a tech head my when my windows 10 had an update and a few cliches appeared, i did follow the instructions , to revert back to a previous version of windows 10 and it did work its in settings
Open Start > Settings > Update & security > Recovery > under Go back to my previous version of Windows 10, click Get started.
maybe worth a go?

Thanks for the above, but I have checked my laptop and it says that that option is no longer available because my PC was up-dated more than 10 days ago... I spent 3 hrs on phone with Abbott this morning and they uninstalled/reinstalled all their data etc etc and it's nothing to do with that, something has happened on my laptop in the last 2 weeks and they said I would have to get an expert to look at what the problem is
