I just read that the cannabis derivatives used to treat severe epilepsy, a drug from Holland, will no longer be available here, using a prescription from a doctor in the UK, but dispensed in Holland.
This might be a problem for travellers in future if they were to need insulin after some accidental loss when abroad, maybe?

Why would it? eg It costs French people £25 or £30 to see their GP, and that's the same for me or you visiting. I always carry the tear off bit of my latest prescription with me, so have NP proving what I need and therefore would just get a scrip from a local Dr, then go and get it dispensed.

In my experience most pharmacies in Europe will give you insulin without a prescription if it’s an emergency, I have even got insulin in Boots in the UK in the past when I lost a bag believe it or not. Always ask to speak to the pharmacist though, they won’t let you die!
the price is more scary though because you have to pay for it lol

I know of a number of people who have their private prescription thyroid meds dispensed in Germany, simply because it is outrageously expensive (like many-fold the cost) in UK, by comparison (and many Consultants will not prescribe it on the NHS).

I imagine over even the shorter term there will be ways to address this, now that the Brexit deal is clearer (ish!).

Of course, there may be an impact on costs or reimbursements, but time will tell on that.
