I vomited for England throughout the night. Spent so much time out of bed and thought it would never stop. Must be a bug going around. Blood sugar was 3.9 after a nap I managed to have this morning and I am having trouble even looking at food. Have had a glass of water with my BP pills and hope that it stays down. Don't feel sick any more. Will see how I go.
I hate being ill.

cherrypie,

Hope you get better as the day goes on. Keep sipping the water cause that flushes away the bug & stops you becoming dehydrated. Remember to keep an eye on your blood sugars x

Sorry to hear that Cherrypie, hope you feel better soon.

That's when home made sugar and salt solution / oral rehydration sachets prove their worth eg Dioralyte, Electolade, chemist's own brand etc.

Or get a spoon to make your own - see http://www.talcuk.org/accessories/sugar-and-salt-measures.htm (only 20p, plus postage, although you might choose to make a donation to help TALC Teaching Aids at Low Cost, which supports health & education in developing countries)

I had one of then kicking about when we were travelling to hot and exotic places - haven't seen it in years, probably left it at my 'first marital' home!

Really great items - probably the most life saving work I've ever done was explaining to mothers in state of Oaxaca, Mexico in 1991 about oral rehydration in case their children got diarrhoea and / or vomiting. Sachets and spoons were in Spanish, obviously, although female illiteracy was pretty high, so explanation was vital as well. Every home and travel medical kit should have one, I reckon.

I've improvised as nothing suitable in medicine cabinet and has some flat diet coke. I flattened it by adding a few grains of sugar.🙂
Am feeling a bit better and have some washing to do. Sweated so much in the night so complete change of bedlinen, bathroom mat is showing evidence of the projection factor and night clothes are definitely smelly.
Supposed to be going out tonight for a birthday bash and this would have been the first social occasion since Jo died. I will not be taking a chance as would be too embarrassed if this lurgy returned.
C'est la vie.:(
People are suffering every day with much worse things but am feeling sorry for myself. Will have to snap out of it. My Dad always reckoned a brandy and port settled upset tummies. Might try that later if I can mage some dry toast. Something to look forward to.

I hope you are feeling much better soon Maisie, and that that is the last you see of the bug. Sorry to hear that it will mean you miss the birthday party.

Here's hoping it is only a 24 hour bug
